RANDOM GAME DROP 2023!?!?
Yes your eyes are NOT deceiving you! I've made and randomly dropped a brand new game over the course of this weekend! And boy are my arms tired!!! As you can see in the description of the game itself, I've been wanting to make a jam game for a good bit now, and it was one of my major goals for the year. So I'm glad I got around to pulling it off finally!
This was a tough one! It was smooth sailing at first but I hit a lot of roadblocks at the end and if you play it I think you'll agree it's held together with wishful thinking at best. Regardless I hope you can get some enjoyment out of this little mess of a game. I would have loved to polish it more but I really didn't have any more time before the game ended (it ends in 50 minutes as of me writing this and after the issues with exporting DaRoach I didn't wanna save it for the last minute). But this is kind of the nature of game jams I suppose.
I'll give a little more post mortem on the game and my process making a jam game later (I'm so tired) but yeah in addition to lacking polish there was a TON of stuff I wanted to include in this game that just had to be cut cause it wasn't working. Like a sea monster and specific day/night events. But again, cuts like this are just part of making a game jam I suppose. But again, like my other games, I absolutely will come back to touch this game up and add back in cut content later.
For anyone wondering, I am still working on Once Upon An Adventure yeah. I've been really busy with a move and being... yknow... massively depressed so I fell off from working on it but I'm slowly getting back into it with working on the town maps! I'm currently chipping away at the main hub area's map :)
Anyway, yeah this game is a mess lol but I'm kinda happy with it. My first game to have a day/night cycle! And there's some pretty ambitious stuff considering I tried to do it in a weekend. Hope you like it!
